My name is Bodie.
I am primary Irish dancer. I started to dance in September 2010 at the age of 20.
The world of ID can be pretty confusing for a newbie but it´s a wonderland I got sucked in pretty quickly - despite quite late age I joined in :)
I´d like this blog to show the beauty and difficulty of Irish Dance through the eyes of beginning dancer.
Because even the best of us were starting with uncooperative limbs, blisters everywhere, second-hand hard shoes and plain dress ;)
And the beauty of it is the amazing height those once confused beginners like us were able to reach.
how high is the possibility I’ll get a heart attack on the stage?
I will probably get them and I’ve paid so much money for this feis that unless that that is a cancer, I am going to do everything to dance on that f**king stage!
It really depends on the antibiotics. I can almost guarantee it’ll violently cut your stamina in half, but that’s about it. At Prague Feis last year I was dancing completely high on painkillers and antibiotics and the only thing that happended was me getting an aggression burst because I wasn’t able to do my best. But no heart attack. :)

I am looking forward… I want to finally enjoy dancing after all lessons and work. I feel tired so thi feis will be probably last one this dancing year. I know I have to take a break. If no I know I start to hate dancing and that is the thing I do not want . Ok my steps are not the best and I know…
sweetie, it’s not about being the best or making yourself practice all the time. It’s about the fun! You don’t have to practice if you don’t feel like it. Just enjoy it, there’s no pressure.

I think I like the dresses in Mainland Europe the most. They’re so beautiful and elegant even their school dresses. They’re not over done
I think the secret is that a huge part of those dresses is homemade or is made by small designers/skilled friends which allows us to put a lot of our own ideas into it. Also the cult of the brands is not as strong here, it doesn’t really matter how trendy or old solo you have as long as you are not naked on the stage .
I guess it goes hand in hand with the fact so many dancers here are adults who just made their own mind about what they wanna wear on the stage. Also the fact at this age dancers pay for their own solo is a huge aspect, I think. And the adult section here is very strong.
I love how feison in Europe created its own style. People are not afraid of being original and put their heart into it :)

tired after long-coming home.
this is the end of the season. So happy to say that I’ve got 15th place out of 24! That was my first time in open and I’m soooo happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I’m out of dancing for a while to have some rest.
So proud of you! You’ve had such a wonderful season! :-*
