My name is Bodie.
I am primary Irish dancer. I started to dance in September 2010 at the age of 20.
The world of ID can be pretty confusing for a newbie but it´s a wonderland I got sucked in pretty quickly - despite quite late age I joined in :)
I´d like this blog to show the beauty and difficulty of Irish Dance through the eyes of beginning dancer.
Because even the best of us were starting with uncooperative limbs, blisters everywhere, second-hand hard shoes and plain dress ;)
And the beauty of it is the amazing height those once confused beginners like us were able to reach.

this is the end of the season. So happy to say that I’ve got 15th place out of 24! That was my first time in open and I’m soooo happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I’m out of dancing for a while to have some rest.

So, I know my hair is totally non-traditional. I had prom right after this show, which is a big production my school puts together every year and this was my first year being back so I decided to go to both this show and prom. And my dress is kind of the old, panel style. My dance teacher makes nearly all the dresses for the girls at my school, and one of the champs from awhile back used to work with her, and that champ made this dress for herself. It’s absolutely gorgeous in my opinion, though it could use some knotwork. The raspberry with bronze and gold is just the perfect combination.

this is the current colour of my hair, I dyed it last week and I usualy dye my hair for the feis.
I was thinking about going for Camelia Rose’s 132C “fire red” because it’s the richest red they offer but they don’t have a decent photo of that shade on their webside and I am afraid it will be too light for me.

It’s not that I don’t love you but it makes me constantly compare myself to you.
And makes me feel absolutely miserable about my lack of more obvious results, about the fact I can’t keep up with the practise routines of girls ten years younger than me and about hundred of other things that are not really your fault but being exposed to them all the time is showing…
I need to find my own tempo again. Find the way how to appreciate even the small steps forward. Stop thinking I should go faster because other people do.
I’ll be here till the end of the semester and then I’ll take a break from dance, from tumblr and everything. I think I need that more than anything.
